Samples
A pile of clicks, down to a few
Six everyday office chores, each shown the long way and then with a shortcut. Press play on either one and count the clicks.
These are samples, not client work. Every name and number is invented, and the click counts are our honest estimate of doing each job by hand. Hollingsworks is in its first year, so there's no client work to show yet.
Sample 1 of 6
Any office · the front desk
Filing the day's scans
~62 clicksto2 clicks
Ten scanned forms. For each one, someone opens it, reads whose it is, renames the file, clicks through to the right client folder and drags it in.
How we'd build itA small script watches one scan folder, reads the name off each form and suggests where it goes. You check the list, then file them all at once. It runs on the Microsoft 365 or Google Drive you already have. Typed forms are easy to read; handwriting may need a little AI, which costs pennies a batch. Included Low cost
Sample 2 of 6
Accounting · every January
Tax-season folders for 40 clients
~242 clicksto1 click
A new folder for every client, three subfolders inside each, and this year's checklist copied in. One client at a time, forty times.
How we'd build itA script reads the client list from QuickBooks and builds every folder from one template you approve. Next year, it's the same button. Free
Sample 3 of 6
Law firms · every new client
Opening a new matter
~31 clicksto2 clicks
Search three places for conflicts, twice. Create the matter, make the eight standard folders, fill in the engagement letter by hand and put the first deadline on the calendar.
How we'd build itOne short form. It searches Clio, email and the old files for both names, then creates the matter, folders and a letter draft for a lawyer to review. It uses Clio's official connection. Included
Sample 4 of 6
HVAC & trades · every job
The tech's ticket, into an invoice
~26 clicksto2 clicks
The tech wrote down the parts and labor. Back at the office, someone retypes every line into QuickBooks, finds the customer and attaches the photos.
How we'd build itA phone-friendly form techs fill in at the job, which is a small app we'd design with them. One button turns it into an unsent QuickBooks invoice that the office checks, then sends. Adding invoices through QuickBooks' connection is free. Free
Sample 5 of 6
Any office · every payday
Hours into payroll, for 12 people
~64 clicksto3 clicks
Look up each person's hours in the time app, switch to the payroll site, find them, type it in, save, and switch back. Twelve times.
How we'd build itA script turns the time report into the upload file your payroll site already accepts, and points out missed punches before you send it. Free
Sample 6 of 6
Owners · the first of every month
The owner's month-end numbers
~40 clicksto1 click
Run the reports in QuickBooks, then find, copy and paste eight numbers into the spreadsheet the owner actually reads, hoping each one lands in the right cell.
How we'd build itA Refresh button inside that same spreadsheet. Behind it, a small script pulls each number from QuickBooks and drops it in its cell. Your layout stays exactly as it is. Free tier
Yours would look different.
None of these is what we'd build for you — your shop has its own shape. The first conversation is about finding the spot that's actually worth shortening.
